'Pineapple Express' stars Seth Rogen and Rosie Perez at the film's New York premiere. |
At the L.A. preem July 31, Columbia Pictures prexy Matt Tolmach joked, "We're going to make a pot movie every year," adding that he had the sense from the get-go that the pic "would have to be a hard R -- and the 'R' stands for ... reefer."
The after-party in Westwood provided plenty of grub for those finding themselves afflicted with the post-pot munchies. Greasy miniburgers and racks of convenience-store junk food awaited guests including Daniel Craig, Jim Carrey and Jack Black.
On Aug. 5, the cast was in Gotham's AMC 19th Street theater's front row and passed along a mic, each saying some variation on the pic's motto "smoke weed!"
At the Tenjune after-party Rogen spoke about his career high and noted that it was "exceptionally strange."
