Despite recent setbacks in the indie film world, Magnolia Films prexy Eamonn Bowles has high hopes that auds will discover "Finding Amanda."

At the pic's Wednesday preem at the Tribeca Grand Hotel, Bowles said he thinks that the current bad news for the genre might lead to good news.

"There could be a light at the end of the tunnel. A number of releases, like 'Amanda,' won't be burdened by so many films that, in the past, they would have had to compete against."

Pic marks the directorial debut for "Rescue Me" co-creator, Peter Tolan.

"Making this movie was a little more nerve wracking than directing a TV show because on a TV show there is another episode down the line." Tolan said. "I was a little more apprehensive while making this but at the same time I was energized by it like I haven't been in 20 years."

Pic's Brittany Snow was also excited to jump into the project. Thesp, who plays a hooker in the film, said "I wasn't nervous at all by the role. So many icons have played hookers before, including Audrey Hepburn and Julia Roberts so I wanted to bring something different to that part. I really wanted to tackle it."
