The schmoozing at the La Boheme Cafe soiree began after brief remarks from Charlotte St. Martin, exec director of the Broadway League, and Howard Sherman, exec director of the American Theater Wing. The 2008 Tony Awards will be held in Gotham June 15.
Newlyweds Alan Ruck and Mireille Enos made the rounds, Richard Griffiths held court, while Swoosie Kurtz, John Lithgow, Joe Mantegna, Elizabeth Franz and Zeljko Ivanek circulated.
"Spring Awakening" helmer Michael Mayer reminisced with Stockard Channing about working together in "The Lion in Winter." The helmer also got a kick out of watching Allison Janney imitate his directing style in "A View From the Bridge." After taking a trip down memory lane, Mayer said of the evening, "It made me feel so emotional."
