Unlike most preems however, cast members including Kevin Bacon and Aisha Tyler as well as helmer James Wan felt no need to make use of the VIP area at the venue's bar following the screening.
In the movie, Bacon plays a father out of revenge after gang members attack his family; in between mingling with family and friends, the thesp explained why the role appealed to him.
"I have been doing so much cerebral sort of stuff lately that I thought it would be nice to be a little more physical," Bacon said. "The last really physical movie I had done was 'The River Wild,' and that was quite some time ago."
Co-star Kelly Preston, who was joined by hubby John Travolta, admitted that it took her three weeks to decide whether to sign on as the wife of Bacon's character.
"I took a huge pause just because of the violence and the subject matter," she said. "But ultimately I felt what the script says gets you to think about choosing violence to solve violence."
