The stars and makers of "Flightplan" didn't seem to mind when rain sent preemgoers clamoring for cover at the Tropicana courtyard Monday night.
Jodie Foster happily tattled on co-star Peter Sarsgaard for being claustrophobic during shooting, particularly during a scene where he and Foster are in a galley elevator.
"Anybody would have been," said a good-humored Sarsgaard, who didn't mind being outed by Foster and co-star Sean Bean.
Foster said her role wasn't as physically demanding as "Panic Room," given that she was pregnant then, but it was much more emotionally taxing to play a mom who loses her daughter on a transatlantic flight.
Producer Brian Grazer said he just couldn't get excited about the project -- which originally envisioned a male lead -- until he realized a woman would be much better. "I dragged my feet for a year, and then decided not to even make it," he admitted. "But people convinced me I had to."
"Flightplan" marks the first studio pic helmed by German-born filmmaker Robert Schwentke, who, true to his mellow style, kept a low profile at the poolside bash. Same with the shy 7 year-old Marlene Lawston, who plays the daughter.
Also on hand: Disney's Dick Cook and Nina Jacobsen.
Luckily for all, airplane meals weren't served.
