"Cinderella Man" helmer Ron Howard, topliner Russell Crowe and co-scribe Akiva Goldsman were in Gotham Tuesday to participate in Variety's NY Screening Series, held at the Museum of Modern Art.
"Penny (Marshall) was the first (helmer) attached to the project," Crowe said during a Q&A. "We started with Laverne and ended with Richie." Crowe went on to single out absent co-star Paul Giamatti for praise.
"There's the Maserati and the Ferrari, but I recommend the Giamatti. This is directed to all you card-carrying guild members...," he said.
