TCI board adds 2 members
TCI also announced a stock dividend of one share of Liberty Media Group Series A stock for every two shares of Liberty Media Group Series A or Series B stock held by the shareholder. The stock dividend is payable to shareholders of record on Dec. 27. It will be distributed on Jan. 13.
Gould will take the TCI board seat formerly occupied by Bob Magness, who died last month. Sparkman assumes a vacancy created by Ted Turner's resignation in October.
A managing director and exec veepee of Allen & Co., Gould has served as a director of Tele-Communications Intl. since July 1995. He is also on the board of National Patent Development Corp., Choice Intl. and United Video Satellite Group.
An 18-year veteran of TCI, Sparkman is a retired executive officer who acts as a consultant to the company. He serves on the board of Shaw Communications, DMX, United Video Inc. and Texscan.
