Friday Foster, is based on a comic strip of the same name; Pam Grier is a fearless magazine fotog, sort of a female Clark Kent, who stumbles onto a St Valentine's Day-type massacre involving black millionaire Thalmus Rasulala and lots of political and underworld opponents mixed up on both sides.

There's a truly impressive credit sheet, including Yaphet Kotto as a cop, Godfrey Cambridge as a swishy criminal type, Eartha Kitt as an outrageously camp fashion designer, Seatman Crothers as a dirty-minded minister, Ted Lange as a sardonic pimp, and Jim Backus as the Mr Big who pulls the strings behind the action.

Grier has some steamy sex scenes and a lot of rugged action, though she isn't totally macho and radiates a lot of traditional feminine charm along the way.
