For his second pic, writer-director James Glickenhaus commits the major sin of shooting an action film with little action. Contrived script instead opts for grotesque violence in a series of glum, distasteful scenes.

The Exterminator returns to New York City for a listlessly paced tale of Robert Ginty suddenly deciding to avenge his war buddy, paralyzed from an encounter with a youth gang. Absence of proper transition scenes and script's frequent reliance upon coincidence loses credibility for Ginty's actions early on.

Christopher George's walkthrough as a policeman is regrettable, while Samantha Eggar as both the buddy's doctor and George's girlfriend must have calculated that this travesty would never be released.
