The Domino Principle

UK: The Domino Killings

ITC/Associated General. Director Stanley Kramer; Producer Stanley Kramer; Screenplay Adam Kennedy; Camera Fred Koenekamp, Ernest Laszlo; Editor John F. Burnett; Music Billy Goldenberg; Art Director William J. Creber
Gene Hackman Candice Bergen Richard Widmark Mickey Rooney Edward Albert Eli Wallach
The Domino Principle is a weak and tedious potboiler starring Gene Hackman as a tool of mysterious international intrigue, and a barely recognizable Candice Bergen in a brief role as his perplexed wife. Stanley Kramer's film contains a lot of physical and logistical nonsense.

Adam Kennedy gets adaptation credit from his own novel. Hackman has been carefully spotted years earlier as an amoral and violent type, just the kind of guy that 'they' can use to assassinate selected public figures. We never know who 'they' are, but 'their' lower-level stooges include Richard Widmark, Eli Wallach and Edward Albert, each more or less archetypic organizational characters.
