Deep Throat

While Deep Throat doesn't quite live up to its reputation as the Ben-Hur of porno pix, it is a superior piece which stands a head above the competition.

Pic takes a tongue-in-cheek approach to conventional hetero hardcore, dishing out enough laughs with the main course to prove sexpo features need as much comic relief as suspenders.

Plot centers on a young lady disappointed because she fails to 'hear bells' during her repeated sex bouts with as many as 14 men at a time.

Pic's technical quality is above par, including sharp color photography and a satirical musical score which spoofs, among other things, Coca-Cola's 'It's the Real Thing' television commercial.

Performances are spirited, especially that of the femme lead, and writer-director-editor Jerry Gerard puts it all together with some style.
