Whatever interest some might have in seeing George Kennedy and Dorothy Lamour is undercut by their roles as helpless vicims of a smalltown robbery and double murder in the first tale, Old Chief Wood'nhead, a lifeless and listless yarn about a storefront Indian who comes to life to avenge the crimes.
The Raft concerns four goodtime teens trapped on a platform in the middle of a small lake, then eaten alive by what looks like tarpaulin covered with black goo.
The Hitchhiker is a painfully protracted telling of how rich gal Lois Chiles hits and runs from a hitchhiker on the highway at night and is then haunted by the bloodied but far-from-dead fellow.
