Cartoonist Ted Key turns to noodling over a spaceship commanded by a cat, forced to land on earth for emergency repairs. For help, the cat turns to a likeable physicist, Ken Berry, to help him get $120,000 in gold needed to repair his saucer in time to rendezvous with the space fleet.

Before long, Berry's girlfriend Sandy Duncan and buddy McLean Stevenson are in on the problem and planning to parlay the cat's extra-terrestrial powers into a series of winning bets with bookie Jesse White. But veterinarian Alan Young mistakenly puts pussy to sleep in the middle of the wagering.

The fun, as usual with Disney pix, comes in the believable sight gags provided along the way. Also as usual, it's a good cast of veterans and nothing to tax them beyond their abilities, all ably kept in pace by director Norman Tokar.
