Golden Rendezvous

Film Trust/Okun/Golden Rendezvous. Director Ashley Lazarus; Producer Andre Pieters; Screenplay Stanley Price; Camera Ken Higgins; Editor Ralph Kemplen
Richard Harris Ann Turkel David Janssen Burgess Meredith John Vernon Gordon Jackson
Despite an overabundance of plot, deaths, and explosions, there's virtually nothing in this puddle of a mid-ocean thriller that wouldn't make a 12-year-old cringe in embarrassment.

Pic [adapted from an Alistair MacLean novel] tells the tale of the Caribbean Star, a combination cargo ship and floating casino, hijacked by mercenary John Vernon. Following the orders of an unknown mastermind, he and his men, with the aid of an atomic device, plan to exchange the captured passengers and bomb for the golden contents of a US Treasury ship.

And so it goes, albeit not as simply, until First Officer Richard Harris, accompanied by Ann Turkel and Gordon Jackson, step in to save the day.
