Willard has a tension-packed sequel in Ben, which takes up minutes after Willard, the man who trained rats, was killed off by his rodents in original entry. Ben, the rat heavy of the other, plays title role here.

Chief protagonist is a young boy played by Lee H. Montgomery, who befriends Ben. Latter's army of rats obey his orders, and they create a reign of terror as they indulge in a wave of killing.

Moppet plays his part to perfection and Phil Karlson's direction is responsible for mounting moments of excitement, well handled by cast headed by Joseph Campanella as a police lieutenant in charge of crisis and Meredith Baxter, Ben's sister.
