Behind the Green Door

Mitchell Brothers. Director Jim Mitchell, Art Mitchell; Producer Jim Mitchell, Art Mitchell; Screenplay Jim Mitchell; Camera Jon Fontana; Editor Jon Fontana
Marilyn Chambers George S. McDonald Johnny Keyes Ben Davidson
Football fans attracted to the hardcore debut of Oakland Raider pro Ben Davidson should flag him for boxoffice clipping. His fully-clothed cameo appearance is hardly worth the time. But sports fans won't go away entirely disappointed, since ex-middleweight boxing champ Johnny Keyes is also featured - and he goes all the way.

Marilyn Chambers makes her hardcore debut in Behind the Green Door. Unlike the crones who used to populate pornos, Chambers may be remembered as the fresh-faced 'innocent' in Together [1971, directed by Sean S. Cunningham]. In that one, she was bare a lot, but never went all the way. In this, she does everything, quite realistically. Unfortunately, she never has enough to say to judge whether she qualifies as an actress.

Filmmakers lavished $50,000 on this feature, their biggest budget to date.
