James Coburn and Bruce Boxleitner limn a kind of father-son pool hustling team who make their living traveling through the country taking advantage of local would-be billiard sharks. They do occasionally enter tournaments, one of which will enable Coburn to reunite with his arch nemesis Omar Sharif.
Coburn and Boxleitner work well together although the former looks and speaks more like someone sipping champagne aboard a yacht than a journeyman dashing through an endlessly array of hick towns. Ronee Blakely is picked up by the pair along the way for moral support and fulfills the limited duties asked of her.
Problem here is scrpt. Situations are just too inane to take seriously and not funny enough to be laughed at.
