Story tells of two kids (Sally Eilers and James Dunn) who meet on a Coney Island boat, delve into marriage after a night in his boarding house room and Dorothy (Eilers) is consequently kicked out of a parentless home by her brother. Then Eddie (Dunn) gives up his dream of a radio shop of his own to furnish a new flat for his wife with the added complication of the baby which she has kept a secret from her inarticulate husband.

After which there is the misunderstanding of both thinking the other doesn't want the child, which is not brought out as strongly here as in the stage version [based on the novel by Vina Delmar]. Minna Gombell figures as the widowed girl friend of Dorothy and a constant source of annoyance to Eddie as his wife's advisor.

As a whole Bad Girl classes as a workmanlike job, with Dunn's scene with the doctor as its strong point.
