Here are the latest schedule shufflings:
- Alphabet has pulled "L.A. Dragnet" from its schedule, effective immediately, and will shut down production on the Universal Network Television-produced skein shortly. Skein was in the middle of its second season, having barely made it past its frosh year following a so-so run last winter.
Alphabet execs wanted to give Wolf time to rejigger the show creatively, allowing him to bring in new cast members and alter the show's focus. Name was also changed from "Dragnet" to "L.A. Dragnet."
But ABC also moved the show to 10 p.m. Saturdays and gave it what just might be the worst possible lead-in for a crime drama: "The Wonderful World of Disney." Perhaps predictably, viewers never made the leap to Saturday.
- NBC is moving to reshape its Tuesday sked.
"Tracy Morgan" will fill the 8 p.m. slot starting Dec. 2, replacing "Whoopi," which slides to 8:30 p.m. "Frasier" remains at 9, with "Happy Family" shifting to 9:30 p.m. "Good Morning Miami" returns to its frosh timeslot Thursdays at 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 4, replacing the canceled "Coupling."
NBC will air a one-time-only original seg of "Tracy Morgan" Thursday, Dec. 4 at 8:30 p.m.
- Instead of part one of "The Reagans," Eye will air the first two episodes of "CSI's" third season together as a two-hour event on Sunday, Nov. 16. Repeats of "Without a Trace" and "CSI: Miami" will air from 9-11 p.m. on Nov. 18.
