CBS sets date for 'Neighborhood'

Reality show to air on Sundays at 9 p.m.

CBS has given a firm airdate for “There Goes the Neighborhood,” which will air at 9 p.m. Sundays starting Aug. 9.

The show has already been drawing attention for the sheer spectacle it has created in suburban Atlanta, where a massive 20-foot wall has enclosed an entire block of homes.

“Neighborhood” centers on eight families locked inside that compound and competing in various games for $250,000.

With little electricity and no contact with the outside world, the families are forced to reconnect as they face off with their neighbors.

“This show is truly a social experiment,” said exec producer Mike Fleiss.

Fleiss’ Next Entertainment is behind the show, along with Jay Bienstock Prods. Fleiss and Bienstock exec produce, while former “American Idol” contestant Matt Rogers is host.
