PR praise for WGAE, Goldman

Guild, Communications Group awarded Silver Anvil

The Public Relations Society of America has given a Silver Anvil trophy to the WGA East and its PR firm, Goldman Communications Group, for their handling of communications during the WGA strike.

The PRSA awarded the kudo Thursday at ceremonies in New York, citing the guild and Goldman as the winners in crisis communications by an association or nonprofit. The WGA East entered the contest separately from the WGA West.

The Silver Anvils are awarded to recognize "achievement in strategic public relations programs." More than 50 winners were announced last week from 893 programs and campaigns that were entered.
