AFI Dallas honors 'Gigantic'

Film takes best narrative feature at festival

Matt Aselton's "Gigantic," starring Paul Dano, Zooey Deschanel and John Goodman, has won the best narrative feature award at the AFI Dallas International Film Festival.

Peter Callahan's "Against the Current" received a special jury prize and Paul Saltzman's "Prom Night in Mississippi" took the kudo for best documentary feature. Gustav Hofer's and Luca Ragazzi's docu "Suddenly Last Winter" received a special jury prize.

The awards were presented Thursday on closing night by Heather Matarazzo and Elvis Mitchell, who served on the Narrative Features and Documentary Features jury, respectively. The festival showed 81 features and 96 shorts.
