Documentaries to close AFI Dallas
'Tyson,' 'The Cove' will screen at festival
The AFI Dallas Film Festival has set a pair of docus, James Toback's "Tyson" and Louie Psihoyos's "The Cove," as its closing-night presentation on April 2."Tyson" examines the life of the famed boxer, Mike Tyson, including his infamous 1997 fight with Evander Holyfield, while "The Cove," tells the story of activist and creator of the "Flipper" series, Richard O'Barry, and his fight to expose the mistreatment of dolphins in a small Japanese village.
Fest will also fete Peter Bogdanovich with the Dallas Star Award during its Texas Day celebration on April 3. Bogdanovich's 1971 classic "The Last Picture Show" will screen as part of the fest's new monthly Book to Film series on April 2.
Fest runs March 26 to April 2.
