Webisodes to crackle on Sony site
New season to begin streaming next week
Sony's Crackle.com has unveiled its next season of Web originals, skedded to begin streaming next week.The 13-week season features new and returning skeins including online talker "Anytime With Bob Kushell"; new seasons of "The Groundlings" and "Owen Benjamin Presents"; new webisodes of "The Jace Hall Show"; and David Faustino's "Star-ving."
Each webisode will run three to five minutes.
Online platform will begin airing new webisodes of "The Jace Hall Show" on Dec. 1. Skein features behind-the-scenes footage from vidgame developers as well as interviews with actors, musicians and athletes.
"The Groundlings" kicks off its second 13-week season on Dec. 16, with the new season of "Owen Benjamin Presents" debuting the following day. Skein features how-to segments, musicvideos and online vignettes by Benjamin, a comic thesp who appeared in "House Bunny."
"Anytime With Bob Kushell" preems on Dec. 18. First season guests include Christina Applegate, Neil Patrick Harris, John Stamos and Jeff Garlin.
On Jan. 12, site will launch "The Hustler," a skein starring Mark Feuerstein as a mysterious man hustling the vulnerable to make a quick buck.
Faustino's "Star-ving" bows on Jan. 16. The former "Married... With Children" star plays an exaggerated version of himself -- he's broke, can't find a job and his wife has left him for a rap star -- in the skein. He realizes that the only thing remaining in his life is his struggling porn shop, left to him by a late fan. Corin Nemec co-stars, and former "Married" stars including Ed O'Neill, Katey Sagal and Applegate appear in webisodes.
