NBC shuffling primetime schedule

'Lipstick Jungle' moving to Fridays

NBC is shuffling its primetime sked, creating a crime-centric Wednesday night lineup and exiling the struggling "Lipstick Jungle" to Fridays.

As part of the change, Peacock stalwart "Law & Order" is returning to the sked sooner than expected. "Law & Order" is back in a familiar spot for the show, Wednesdays at 10 p.m., beginning Nov. 5.

Also on the same night, the soph drama "Life" will move to its new Wednesday time slot, at 9 p.m., behind "Knight Rider," which stays put at 8 p.m.

"Lipstick," which is being bumped from Wednesday 10 p.m. berth by "Law & Order," will move to Friday nights, filling "Life's" old 10 p.m. slot beginning Oct. 31.

In a statement, NBC Entertainment/Universal Media Studios co-chairmen Ben Silverman and Marc Graboff said they hoped the shuffle would improve the Peacock’s fortunes by turning its Wednesday lineup into “wall-to-wall satisfying mysteries.”

Meanwhile, net said reality skein "Momma's Boys" -- which has already been given several different launch dates -- is moving again. Competish, which had been skedded for Wednesdays at 8 p.m. starting Nov. 12, will instead air Mondays at 9 p.m. starting Dec. 22 -- as "Heroes" finishes the first half of the season and takes a break.

"Momma's Boy" will actually premiere the week before in a special slot, Tuesday, Dec. 16, behind the season finale of "The Biggest Loser."
