Fox tapping Waters for 'Eva Adams'
'Mean Girls' director signs on for pilot
"Mean Girls" helmer Mark Waters has signed on to direct the pilot of "Eva Adams," the Sony Pictures TV-produced redo of Argentinean telenovela "Lalola" for Fox.Waters and his producing partner, Jessica Tuchinsky, will serve as exec producers on the hourlong project from scribe Kevin Falls (Daily Variety, Sept. 9). Falls and Jamie Tarses are also exec producers.
"Eva Adams" revolves around the experience of a lothario who somehow turns into a woman and is forced to endure the same kind of womanizing that he used to dole out. The U.S. adaptation is set in the world of sports and fashion.
"Eva Adams" is based on the Dori Media Intl. format that was a big hit as "Lalola" on Argentina's America TV.
Waters' pic credits include 2003's "Freaky Friday," 2005's "Just Like Heaven" and this year's "The Spiderwick Chronicles."
