UKFC launches $3m creative fund

Vision Awards will support up to 10 companies

LONDON — Brit funding org. the U.K. Film Council has announced the launch of the Production Company Vision Awards, a new funding initiative designed to support creative production shingles.

Part of the UKFC’s development fund, the Vision Awards will offer as may as 10 production companies up to $300,000 (£150,000) in coin over two years to enable them to develop feature projects.

“We want to provide a supportive arena for creative producers with forward thinking U.K. production companies, who have a clear vision and commitment to U.K. film,” commented UKFC development fund topper Tanya Seghatchian.

Production companies will be required to show evidence of previous success in feature film production, as well as detail their original thinking in a vision statement, in order to be eligible for the coin.

The new funding stream will be an additional source of coin for producers alongside the development fund’s existing two funding channels.
