Disney sets action comedy spy film

Segars to produce Guiley, Schneiderman pitch

Disney has set up an action comedy spy project at Charles Segars' Sparkler Entertainment after buying a pitch from the scripting team of Derek Guiley and David Schneiderman.

Segars will produce and Mosaic's Ilan Breil, manager of the scribes, will exec produce. Segars received story by credit on "National Treasure" and exec produced that pic and its sequel.

The Mouse House is keeping the title and logline under wraps. Sparkler's head of development and production Andrew Bernstein brought the project into the shingle, which has a first-look deal at Disney.

Guiley and Schneiderman have "Test Drive" and "Cool School" set up at Fox, the latter with Wayne McClammy recently attached to direct. They also wrote "Chasing Liberty."

Segars is attached to produce "Fort Knox" at Warner Bros., "No Man's Land" at DreamWorks and "Stealing Time" at Sony.
