Lighting designer Ormsby dies at 40

Worked on 'Bee Movie,' 'Spider-Man'

Lighting designer Ethan Alan Ormsby died June 12 of cancer in Los Angeles. He was 40.

Ormsby worked for Dreamworks Animation, where his last credit was on "The Bee Movie."

Prior to Dreamworks, he was a digital artist at Digital Domain, Sony, and Disney and contributed to projects including "Spider-Man," "Castaway, "Apollo 1, "What Lies Beneath," "Strange Days" and "Dinosaur."

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer, his parents, a brother, a half-brother, a stepbrother, a stepsister and his stepmother.

Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
