Kopelson flips for 'Upside/Down'

Company purchases romantic comedy script

Kopelson Entertainment has paid high six figures for "Upside/Down," a romantic comedy spec script by Susan Brightbill. Arnold and Anne Kopelson will produce.

Story concerns a successful thirtysomething woman who watches her life turn upside down when she meets a free-spirited 24-year-old man. Brightbill's last spec, "Twice Upon a Time," was acquired by Fox 2000, and she recently scripted "Mount Pleasant" for Beacon Pictures and Disney.

The Kopelsons used their access to the Equus Media Development Fund to make the deal, as they have with numerous scripts they plan to develop and then set up with studios. Kopelson Entertainment's Ryan Engle will exec produce with Mosaic Media Group's Michael Aguilar.
