'Tube' wins at Uppsala

'Lecon,' Temporai' take special prizes

STOCKHOLM -- Radu Jude’s Romanian short “The Tube With a Hat” won the Grand Prix in the international section at the short film fest in Uppsala.

The prize, handed out Saturday evening, consists of the Film Jackdaw statuette and 25,000 Swedish kroner ($3,888).

The jury also awarded two special prizes, to Martin Rit for “La Lecon de guitare” and Paz Fabrega for “Temporai.” Audience award went to Manuel Schapira for “Decroche.”

Nod for Swedish short went to “How to Do It,” by Gunilla Heilborn, Kim Hiorthoy and Marten Nilsson. Besides the statuette and $3,888, the helmers also received $15,300 awarded by MySpace to be used for marketing their film.

Goran Kapetanovic’s “A Little Bit From Above” won for kids film.
