Unusual film mix for sound awards

'Lost,' 'Heroes' among TV contenders

"Flags of Our Fathers" and "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" joined awards season regulars "Babel," "Blood Diamond" and "Dreamgirls" for a chance at the Cinema Audio Society Awards' top prize, for achievement in sound mixing.

Episodes of "Deadwood," "Heroes," "Lost," "The Sopranos" and "24" will vie for the TV nod on Feb. 17, when kudos are doled out at the Biltmore Bowl of the Millennium-Biltmore Hotel.

Ed Greene will receive a career achievement nod and Gilbert Cates will be feted with the filmmaker award.
