Hollywood Film Fest sets craft kudos

Zsigmond to receive cinematographer award

The 10th annual Hollywood Film Festival has tapped Academy Award winner Vilmos Zsigmond to receive its cinematographer award.

Also receiving craft awards will be film editor Joel Cox, composer Gustavo Santaolalla, production designer John Myhre, costume designer Penny Rose and casting director Francine Maisler.

Honors will be bestowed during an Oct. 23 awards ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Recipients were announced by Hollywood Film Fest founder and exec director Carlos de Abreu.

Zsigmond most recently lensed the upcoming "The Black Dahlia." Other credits include "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," for which he won the Oscar, "The Deer Hunter," "McCabe and Mrs. Miller" and "Deliverance."

Cox, a longtime collaborator with Clint Eastwood, won the Oscar for "Unforgiven."

Santaolalla won the Academy Award for original score for "Brokeback Mountain."

Myhre won the Academy Award for "Memoirs of a Geisha" and "Chicago," both directed by Rob Marshall. He was the production designer on DreamWorks' upcoming "Dreamgirls."

Rose designed costumes for Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean" pics.

Maisler's casting credits include U's "Miami Vice" and "Babel," as well as Sony's "Spider-Man 3."
