Tallman lights on 'Night'
Regency, Fox team for comic adaptation
A correction was made to this article on Sept. 28, 2005.Fox 2000 and New Regency are teaming to produce a feature film adaptation of Ted Naifeh's comicbook "Courtney Crumrin and the Night Things." Graham Tallman has been hired to write the script.
Pic follows the story of a young girl who moves into her eccentric uncle's house, where she's thrown into a world of warlocks, witchcraft and goblins. Meanwhile, she must solve the mystery of why all her classmates are disappearing.
Stan Winston and Brian J. Gilbert are producing. Film Roman's Carin Davis is associate producer.
Project is being overseen at Fox 2000 by Maria Faillace and at New Regency by Stacy Maes and Sanford Panitch.
Tallman wrote and directed the short film "Lollipops," about a young girl who must choose between her divorced parents. Pic preemed at the Toronto Film Festival in 2001. He recently received his master's degree in film direction from the American Film Institute in L.A.
Winston is a producer on Sony's "Me and My Monster," to which Jake Gyllenhaal is attached to star, as well as Lions Gate werewolf pic "Skinwalkers," directed by James Isaac.
