MusicNow gets in the Van

MusicNow, which was recently acquired by Circuit City, is partnering with the Vans Warped Tour to create the first online musicstore that will sell recordings of live concert performances, as well as other tracks by participating artists.

Vans Warped Tour Music Club will provided unlimited streaming of exclusive tracks made by artists on the tour for $9.99 per month, as well as track downloads at the standard Net price of 99¢.

Service was built by MusicNow's new MusicNow Digital Music Club, which enables artists to build their own sites to sell music directly to fans.

It's part of a growing trend on several different Internet musicstores that sell live recordings from concerts in an effort to discourage piracy by fans who tape performances.
