De Mol to take Dutch 'Wife'

Erotic adult fairy tale lensing in Luxembourg

AMSTERDAM -- Dutch TV star Johnny de Mol, son of Endemol chairman John de Mol, will play alongside Jonathan Rhys Meyers ("Bend It Like Beckham"), Max Beesley ("Glitter") and Rosana Pastor ("Land and Freedom") in "The Emperor's Wife," Holland's latest English-lingo attempt to capture international auds.

The erotic adult fairy tale began shooting in Luxembourg this week and is set to wrap in mid-December.

Pic is directed by Julien Vrebos and produced by Fu Works film vet San Fu Maltha ("Costa") and Staccato Films' Emjay Reichsteiner ("Pauline & Paulette"). Film is co-produced by Delux Prods.' Jimmy Brabant and Spice Factory's Jason Piette and Michael Cowan as well as Vrebos.

International rights have been picked up by the Overseas Film Group.

"The Emperor's Wife" is about a ruler required by law to choose a new partner if his wife can't produce a child.
