Reporter, anchor for WBZ-TV in Boston

Jack B. Chase, a reporter and anchor for almost three decades at WBZ-TV in Boston, died April 24 in Marlboro, Mass. He was 85.

He spent 28 years at WBZ-TV, earning a reputation as a fearless journalist in 1955 when he donned firefighter gear and entered the Charlestown Prison during a riot to get exclusive coverage.

Survivors include his wife, two sons and a brother.
