Cosby joins TNT's 'Work in Progress'

Cosby co-scripts and co-exec produces father-daughter pic

Bill Cosby has signed to star in an original movie for TNT called "Work in Progress."

Cosby will also co-write the movie with Charles Kipps and co-exec produce it with Kipps and Lorenzo Minoli(the hit CBS mini "Jesus"). It's a TNT production in association with Five Mile River Films.

Cosby plays a jazz musician who can't commit to a relationship. The character's life is transformed when he discovers that he has an adult daughter that he never knew about living in Italy -- the result of a brief love affair during his service in Vietnam.

The movie is slated to begin production in Italy later this summer.
