Alliance TV ups Sanchez

Managing director to o'see Europe; Latam goes to Kaufman

Maria Sanchez has been promoted to managing director, Europe, for Alliance Atlantis TV Distribution.

Sanchez will be moving to London from the company's Los Angeles office to oversee European television sales operations, effective July 15.

Sanchez has spent the last two years developing Alliance Atlantis' Latin American sales.

"Maria's strong sales, leadership and operational skills combined with her multilingual talents in Spanish, Portuguese and English makes her the ideal candidate to take over this challenging new role," said Marnie Sanderson, exec VP of the Alliance Atlantis division.

Kaufman for Latam

In addition, Alliance Atlantis has appointed Katherine Kaufman director of sales for Latin America.

Kaufman will be responsible for the distribution and representation of all Alliance Atlantis product in the Latin American and Caribbean territories. She will be based in Alliance Atlantis' Los Angeles office; her appointment is effective on June 15.

Kaufman joins Alliance Atlantis from Southern Star's Sydney office, where she oversaw sales to Latin America and the Caribbean. Prior to joining Southern Star, she was a sales exec responsible for Latin America at the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.'s Los Angeles office.

Kaufman reports to Sanchez; Sanchez reports to Sanderson. Both Kaufman and Sanchez will be liaising with their new clients during the L.A. Screenings.
