'Bank Job' cops int'l distributors

Film stars Jason Statham, Saffron Burrows

Japanese distrib Movie Eye is one of more than a dozen companies to pick up rights in 40 territories to Arclight Films’ British thriller "The Bank Job."

The Roger Donaldson helmed pic, which stars Jason Statham, Saffron Burrows and Stephen Campbell Moore, is the backstory of a 1971 robbery that involved government censorship, murder, corruption and a Royal sex scandal.

Other Berlin deals include those with Atlas Film Medien for Germany, Austria, Luxembourg and Switzerland; New World Films for Spain; Nordisk for Scandinavia; Castello Lopes for Portugal; Maple Pictures for Canada; Spentzos Films for Greece and Cyprus; PT Parkit for the Indian subcontinent, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore; and Bona Entertainment for China.

Pic was previously signed to Lionsgate Films for the U.S. and the U.K. Other deals finalized include Media Pro for most eastern European territories; Imagem Filmes and Telecine for Brazil; Aqua Pinema for Turkey; Gulf Film for the Middle East; Source Investments for Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands; Sam- Film for Iceland; Latin American Pay Television Service; and Entertainment in Motion for worldwide airlines.
