Entertainment One names new VP
Rainer Grupe takes on filmed entertainment
Entertainment One, Canada's largest home entertainment distributor, floated on London's Alternative Investment Market last March. Since then, it has been on a spending spree as it builds an international distribution network, acquiring Contender Entertainment in the U.K., Seville Pictures in Canada and RCV in Benelux. Entertainment One also owns U.S. indie music label Koch Entertainment.
Grupe has previously worked as VP of international sales at Polygram Film Intl. in London and VP of acquisition and distribution for Senator Film in Germany.
"The plan is to become a world-leading content ownership and distribution business and a one-stop shop for producers to get their films and television programs distributed," said Grupe.
Grupe's appointment is effective immediately.
