Mischa Barton-starrer goes to 6 Sales

'Malice' is modern-day take on Lewis Carroll tale

Madrid-based sales company 6 Sales, with its strong line of English-language product, has taken international sales rights to the Future Films-produced Mischa Barton-starrer "Malice in Wonderland."

A modern-day take on Lewis Carroll's tale, "Malice" has been adapted by Jayson Rothwell. Simon Fellows ("Until Death") will direct. Future Films is the lead producer while Pierce Williams will also finance and produce the film.

The pickup comes as Val Kilmer has been attached to "20% Fiction," 6 Sales announced Thursday at Berlin.

Exec produced by Robert De Niro and L.A.-based Deco Entertainment, whose "Gospel Hill" has proved one of 5 Sales' most successful titles internationally, "20% Fiction" tells the story of an acting coach who teaches celebrities (Kilmer) but learns a few lessons about truthfulness from amateurs.

Barry Primus wrote the screenplay and will direct. Pic is in pre-production. 6 Sales will also be showing more footage from its key animation project, "The Missing Lynx," which is produced by Spain's Kandor Graphics, Perro Verde, YaYa and Antonio Banderas' Green Moon.

Banderas will voice one of the film's characters.

The Madrid sales company's Berlin slate is rounded up with Sundance World Drama Competition entry "Strangers," Spanish hit "Mortadelo & Filemon: Mission Save the Planet," Steve Clark's Slamdance player "Frost" and Michael Oblowitz's surfing doc "Dark Tracks."
