Hafsia Herzi boards 'Campagne'

Actress set opposite Beart

Rising French thesp Hafsia Herzi, who won the debut actress prize at the 2007 Venice fest, has boarded “Ma Campagne de Nuit” opposite French thesp Emmanuelle Beart. Pic will be helmed by Helen Lauren and Isabelle Brockard and produced by Edouard Mauriat’s Mille et Une Prods. Lensing is set to start in the summer.

Herzi is also set to play opposite Jacques Dutronc in an as-yet-untitled pic directed by Xavier de Choudens.

Both perfs mark the first time that Herzi, who was born and raised in France but is of North African origin, will actually play French characters.

“I always wanted to in the past but I was always cast as an immigrant,” said Herzi. “I’m excited that my characters names in these projects are Marie and Julie.”
