Huston cancels Locarno trip

Actress was to have received award

Anjelica Huston has bowed out of her scheduled appearance at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland where she was to be feted with a lifetime achievement nod.

Citing "unforeseen events and personal reasons," Huston told the Swiss fest she will be unable to make the trip this summer, but hoped to reschedule for an upcoming edition.

The presentation of Locarno's Excellence Award to Huston will therefore be put on hold, fest organizers said.

However, "Choke," the black comedy by Yank first-timer Clark Gregg, in which Huston stars, will unspool as planned on Aug. 9 in the Swiss lakeside town's 7,000-seat Piazza Grande with Gregg and scriptwriter Chuck Palahniuk in attendance.

The Locarno fest runs Aug. 6-16.
