Lou Reed speaks out at SXSW
Musician named keynote speaker at event

He will make his appearance in conjunction with a screening of Julian Schnabel's film "Lou Reed's 'Berlin,'" which documents a recent performance of the landmark 1973 album.
Reed will speak at the Austin Convention Center on March 13.
SXSW Music Conference events take place March 12-16.
Featured speakers at this year's conference include singer-songwriter Daryl Hall, composer Steve Reich and guitarist-composer Thurston Moore. Hall will perform a showcase as well. Moore, a member of Sonic Youth, will also present a showcase of bands signed to his Ecstatic Peace label.
Among the execs speaking will be Sire Records president Seymour Stein, Ticketmaster CEO Steve Moriarty and PACE concerts founder Louis Messina.
