Fest chairman Earl Greenburg said, "We're excited to honor Halle Berry for her impressive body of work and mesmerizing performance in this year's 'Things We Lost in the Fire.'"
Awards gala, to be hosted by Mary Hart, will also honor "Into the Wild" director Sean Penn, producer Jerry Weintraub and thesps Marion Cotillard, Emile Hirsch and Nikki Blonsky.

The Santa Barbara Film Festival will honor Ryan Gosling with its inaugural Independent Award.
Thesp will be recognized for his standout indie performances in pics such as "The Believer," "Half Nelson" and this year's "Lars and the Real Girl."
Gosling will receive the award Jan. 29 at the Lobero Theater in Santa Barbara.
