Jurors also were announced for the U.S. docu, world cinema dramatic, world cinema docu and American and international short film competitions, as well as the Alfred P. Sloan Prize.

Sundance Film Festival director Geoffrey Gilmore said the jurors, ranging from directors and producers to actors and editors, come from around the globe, bringing an original and diverse point of view. Fest opens Thursday in Park City, Utah, and runs through Jan. 29.

Judging U.S. docus will be scribe-helmer Alexander Payne, filmmaker-editor Joe Bini, docu producer-director Heather Rae and documakers Zana Briski and Andrew Jarecki.

Jurors in the world dramatic competition are Italian film critic Irene Bignardi, Chinese scribe-helmer Lu Chuan and Danish director Thomas Vinterberg.

Docu filmmakers Kate Amend, Jean-Xavier de Lestrade from France and Rachel Perkins from Australia will award prizes in the world docu competish.

Filmmaker Georgia Lee, international sales agent Sydney Neter and IFC Center VP-general manager John Vanco will tap the short film winners.

Jurors selecting the Alfred P. Sloan Prize-winning film are Dr. Martha Farah, Dr. Antonio Damasio, John Underkoffler, Lynn Hershman Leeson and Greg Harrison. Award honors a film for its presentation of science or technological themes.
