Martinez packs bags for 'Carmo'
Thesp takes road trip with Murilo Pasta



Spanish actor Fele Martinez ("Bad Education") will topline "Carmo," the upcoming road movie debut by Brit-based Brazilian Murilo Pasta.

Pic is produced by Roberto D'Avila's Moonshot Pictures in Sao Paulo, Elisa Alvarez and Alexa Dean's BR-3 in London and Alberto Aranda's A Contraluz Films in Spain. Beyond has sales rights.

With dialogue in portenol -- a mix of Portuguese and Spanish -- "Carmo" is skedded to shoot from October in the Brazilian Pantanal, a borderland marsh region as large as Australia.

Martinez plays a paraplegic who meets a young girl and tries to persuade her to take to the road.

Moonshot's current production slate also includes Bruno Barreto's fiction feature "174," sold by Myriad, and Jorge Paixao Costa's period murder drama with social undertones, "The Mystery of Sintras Road."
