Meredith Amdur returned to the U.S. in 2001 having spent over a decade in Europe writing on the global TV and film industries as editor of London-based financial publishing group Baskerville Communications and its assemblage of media industry newsletters including TV International and Variety Deal Memo. She has a penchant for writing about media dealmaking and finance with broad focus on global media congloms and the New York showbiz scene that exists beyond Wall Street. Just prior to joining Variety, she was director of media consulting for French strategy consulting firm Vista Advisers. She ankled Variety in 2004.
