Brian Lowry has been a media columnist and chief TV critic at Variety since September 2003. His column runs twice weekly and explores the changing media landscape and industry trends, as well as the lighter side of the entertainment industry.
This is Lowry's second tour of duty at Variety, interrupted by a seven-year stint at the Los Angeles Times. He is also currently the co-host of a weekly TV program, "Square Off," which airs on TV Guide Channel and is devoted to the business of television. The show's producers include Variety Editor-in-Chief Peter Bart.
